Social Events - Church Weekend

Many of us have busy lives and only meet together for our Sunday morning service. We may share briefly with each other over coffee afterwards but that may not result in the satisfying relationships which we all need and which the bible describes as “the fellowship of believers”.

A weekend away offers the space and time and opportunity to get to know each other better, build unity and begin to establish these closer bonds.

Reasons to Attend

Primarily, this is about deepening the friendships amongst us.

Encouraging each other to walk with God:

A weekend away will give us the opportunity for extended times of worship, prayer and reflection as well as  bible teaching from an outside speaker inspiring us to walk with God, develop our God given gifts and serve Him.

Hebrews 10, 24-25:

“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near”

Encouragement from our Minister, Nic Boyns:

“There are a number of people for whom the church weekend in 2020 was a major step forward in their giving and receiving support and friendship in the church family”

Comfortable accommodation and beautiful surroundings:

Sizewell Hall is a Christian Conference Centre situated on the Suffolk Coast, within 32 acres of woodland just over an hour and a half away from Cambridge. The hall has beautiful views of the sea. The hall is fully carpeted with central heating and has a very homely atmosphere  (especially when people are walking around in their slippers!) The accommodation comprises 32 bedrooms (90 beds and cots available) over two floors with toilets and wet rooms on each floor and lift access.

We do not want anyone to be put off from coming for financial reasons. There is a bursary scheme for those who are on limited income. For more information, please talk to or email Chris Tanton:
