Sunday Worship

Sung Worship uses music from 19^th, 20^th and 21^st century sung at a lower pitch to facilitate wide participation. We are free to stand or sit, to be silent or use percussion as we worship.  The music group seeks to facilitate worship using keyboard, guitars, drums, flute and a pipe organ.

We pray for each person in the church by name each year on the week of their birthday (and sing happy birthday). We pray for the work of Tear fund and BMS World Mission at least once a month, and for each of our community activities at least once a term.

All those of any age who desire to meet with God in receiving gluten free bread and non alcoholic wine are welcome to do so in our twice monthly communion services (one of which is normally all-age and one of which is adults only).  In the Coronavirus era we supply our own bread and wine. In Normal times those of any age who wish to do so take turns at serving the bread and wine.

Our sermons seek to explain the links made with other parts of the bible (and often precede the reading from the bible). They also seek to encourage us in our faith as well as challenge us to put what we learn into practice.

Talking to each other, praying for each other, sharing the joys, sorrows and challenges of life, is very important, both before the Sunday morning service and afterwards, when refreshments are served. Someone recently said that “You can be you, without having to pretend to be churchy”.  In the Coronavirus era we do this in break-out groups before and after the service, and inside/outside the church building from 23rd May

Once a quarter we offer anointing of oil to everyone. We often use words from Psalm 23: “Please refresh my soul.  Bring healing to my body. Be present in my dark valleys. Surround me with your goodness and love all the days of my life”
