Cherry Hinton Baptist Church (CHBC) are a group of Christians (seen, left, in June 2019) who seek to love the God they have found in Jesus and to learn more about Him and His ways.

The word “Baptist” is included in the name of the church because of the way in which those who express their faith are immersed (or baptised) in water (seen, below, in March 2016).

We seek to obey Jesus’ command to love others both individually and through activities which we provide in our local community:

• for those who are drawn to learn more of Jesus (Gathered Worship, House Groups, Introduction to Christianity Courses and monthly Church meals),
• for those with pre-school children (Messy Play, Messy Bible, Messy Dads and Value Builders),
• for primary school aged children (Value Builders, Youth Group and Holiday Club),
• for secondary school aged children (Value Builders, Young People’s housegroup and Youth Group),
• for senior citizens (Friday Friends), and
• for adults (Men’s Breakfast,  Community Choir, Hope House and  social events).

Many of the church activities usually take place in the Family Centre, which was refurbished at the end of 2015 and is available for hire at £10/hour for the large room and £6/hour for the small room. 

The church is primarily financed by voluntary giving, which is supplemented by some grants for capital projects.  10% of our income supports our Overseas work. The way in which we understand church is reflected in the way in which we are structured.
