‘Praise the Lord, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits –
who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion.’ PSALM 103:1-4
Thank you for forgiving my sins, healing my diseases, redeeming my life, and crowning me with love and compassion.
‘One is never lacking in opportunities to be happy because around every corner is another gift waiting to surprise us, and it will surprise us if we can achieve control over our natural tendencies to make comparisons, to take things for granted, and to feel entitled. When practising gratitude, we recognise that we are not ultimately producers and consumers but, above all, the recipients of blessings.’ (G.K. Chesterton)
