- We “reach out” to make contact with people to “draw them in” to a living faith and participation in our worshipping community. Contact can be made both outside and inside church run activities.
- In all our interactions with other people we individually seek to embody the good news in what we do and what we say. Where opportunity presents itself we commend the Christian Faith. We do this in our interaction with family, friends and in groups and activities both inside and outside the church, and we have a bias towards doing things that serve others.
- In all of our church run community groups (Choir, Messy Play, Friday Friends, Youth Group, Hope House) we seek to do all of the above with the addition that there is a small amount of direct commending of Christian Faith included.
- There are more good and worthwhile activities to do than each of us has time to do, so we each pray that we may be guided by God in our use of time. It is to be expected that some people in the church do less within the church community groups and more in groups outside the church, and for some it will be the other way around. In addition to getting each church run group to be prayed for in our morning service once or twice a year, other activities that church members are involved with will be highlighted (Cherry Hinton Hub, Chaplaincy, Publishing, Sports clubs, ….)
- In our Small Groups: Café Church, House group and Oasis we talk about our Christian faith and believe that these groups are accessible to people at any stage of faith. From time to time these groups look at Christian Basics. Those exploring faith are an encouragement to those who have been following Jesus for some time and vice versa.
- It is our aim that our Gathered Worship is accessible to people of differing levels of understanding, experience and commitment with regard to faith, particularly around Christmas, Easter and Harvest.
- We give thanks for the welcoming effect of having Coffee both before and after the service.
- In order to be welcoming at gathered worship it is helpful if people sit one row more forward than they would like to, in order for there to be more space at the back for newcomers who may prefer to sit at the back.
- We pray for sensitivity to signs that we are either over welcoming or under welcoming an individual at our church activities.
