Confidentiality

As a church family, we seek to care for one another with wisdom, sensitivity and respect. Any information we receive or share about another person should arise from a genuine concern for their wellbeing, rather than simply an interest in the information itself.

When praying for others, we remember that God knows every situation fully, while our own understanding is always partial. We therefore seek to pray with humility and avoid drawing conclusions from incomplete or second-hand information.

There are times when sharing information with those who are providing pastoral care or have regular contact with someone may help them offer appropriate support. Where possible, we will ask permission before doing so, while recognising the importance of treating personal information with care.

We recognise that people differ in how much they wish to share about their circumstances, and this can vary depending on the situation, the day, and the person they are speaking to. We aim to listen well, respect personal boundaries, and avoid passing on rumours or unverified third-hand information.

We always seek permission before sharing personal information with the wider church family, including through the Church Family WhatsApp group or church email. Information shared at church prayer meetings is treated as confidential and is not shared more widely. This expectation is explained to anyone joining the prayer meeting.

Likewise, we ask for explicit permission before including anyone’s details on the church contact information sheet or the names-to-faces board.

We are thankful to be part of a church family that is committed to supporting one another through prayer, encouragement and thoughtful pastoral care. (July 2026)
