Members Meetings

Over and above the requirements of our constitution:

  • At least one item is for discussion, and such items are early in the agenda
  • After some discussions the meeting may authorise a person or group to take on board feedback and proceed as they see fit, informing the church meeting of what takes place.  The church meeting sets the overall policy whereas those who run groups work out the details.
  • We seek to make decisions which are appropriate, proportionate and compassionate; taking into account diverse and contradictory issues
  • We seek to ensure that groups affected by a major church decision are consulted before a proposal comes to the church members’ meeting.
  • When an issue arises that the church would like to address, we will always consider how we can modify our existing activities to address the issue before creating a new group/activity. This affirms the existing groups and ensures that the issue is dealt with in context of the existing church.
