In September 2025 the church agreed that the following is an accurate description of how our church deals with political issues and one which seems right to us to continue:
- We will continue to raise political issues and pray for them in our Sunday Morning Gathered Worship. We hope that this will encourage discussion and prayerful thought.
- We will continue to pray for wisdom for politicians and policy makers & pray that God’s will is done (always), and to be aware of others in the way we pray, not being afraid of disagreement, being grateful for being challenged.
- We will continue to raise some political issues in the church family email and WhatsApp group, with links to relevant websites with more information and/or specimen letters to an MP which people can send as individuals, and/or the email of a church member who may be willing to write a letter on behalf of individuals within the church. Any member of the church family can raise such issues and write such letters. All church members are encouraged to take seriously the call to stand up for what is right.
- In exceptional circumstances, when it is likely that there is unanimity within the church family, a political issue could be brought to the church members with a view to letter being written on behalf of the entire church.
- We will continue to seek to ensure that the activities of the church continue to address the needs of those who are disadvantaged, and encourage all church members to seek to do this in activities outside the church.
